Fioriano sells lighting for the home: pendant lights, outdoor lights, floor lamps and ceiling fans with a light point. The catalogue is small — four categories, around twenty products — and it stays small on purpose.
Why such a narrow catalogue
An online lighting shop can list ten thousand items. The problem is that nobody has really looked at them one by one, and when you write to ask whether that pendant will light a two-metre table, the answer you get is the spec sheet pasted back at you.
We would rather keep few products and know what to tell you. If a light does not convince us — cold light, a diffuser that dazzles, a bracket that holds badly — it simply does not go into the catalogue.
What we look at, before the looks
- Where the light falls. A pendant above the table has to light the surface, not the room: the beam needs to be kept tight, otherwise it eats the contrast and dinner looks like a canteen.
- Glare. A bare source at eye height is a mistake you pay for every evening. We look for diffusers that soften the light point without killing it.
- The real footprint. A pendant over a table sits well at 70–80 cm above the surface: lower and you bang your head, higher and it stops doing its job. If a lamp cannot be shortened, that is a problem.
- Fitting it. Standard electrical box, bracket and fixings included. If you need an electrician to install it, that should be said beforehand, not discovered afterwards.
Indoors and outdoors are not the same thing
It is the most common confusion and the most expensive. An indoor fitting mounted under a porch lasts one season: damp gets into the contacts, the metal oxidises, the seal dries out. Near the sea it goes faster. The outdoor lights we keep are chosen to be genuinely outside — surface treatments, protected wiring, maintenance reduced to a damp cloth.

- We do not sell bulbs: you can find them anywhere and they cost less round the corner.
- We do not do lighting design. We are glad to answer a question about a fitting, but we will not draw up the lighting plan for your home.

- Individual packaging for every fitting: glass and ceramic need care and we take it.
- 30 days to return, with the label at our expense. If the lamp is not the right one, it goes back without argument.
- A reply within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, by email.
